Who to Believe on Obama Outsourcing?
Who to Believe on Obama Outsourcing? – The White House or the Media and Dem Senators?
Poor Jay Carney. Obama’s in-over-his-head press secretary tried to convince reporters with a straight face that the Obama Administration has not used taxpayer dollars to outsource jobs overseas. Carney may try to hoodwink the mainstream media, but there is growing skepticism and some liberal Democratic Senators are furious with the President.
COUNT SEN. CHUCK SCHUMER (D-NY) AMONG THOSE UNCONVINCED
When Schumer learned that nearly 3⁄4 of $2 billion in stimulus dollars targeted for wind turbines had gone to China, Schumer was not happy. He described the giveaways as “something so outrageous, it makes your blood boil.” When the Administration said they could not prevent the transactions, Schumer added “That answer is not good enough.”
SEN. SHERROD BROWN (D-OH) CALLED IT WHAT IT WAS: OUTSOURCING
Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown, in a tough re-election fight, was just as direct as Schumer. He challenged the President and his Administration by saying: “Why did we give away our industrial base? Why did we outsource our steel and our chemicals and our wind turbine and solar panel manufacturing?”
DESPITE JAY CARNEY’S CLAIMS TO THE CONTRARY, THE MEDIA CALLS OBAMA’S ACTIONS “OUTSOURCING”
In February, ABC News reported on the findings of the Investigative Reporting Workshop, which estimates that the stimulus awards have created 6,000 jobs overseas while accounting for “a couple hundred” in the U.S. Robert Scott of the Economic Policy Institute simply called the Administration’s policies “outsourcing.”
The President’s nearly $1 trillion stimulus has been a colossal waste of taxpayer money and these are just the latest examples. An energy policy that focuses on a market-based use of American resources is what’s needed and will become a reality under a President Romney.
