Urgent Call to Action From Senator Thune

http://www.gop.com/images/john_Thune_official_photo.jpgRight now on Capitol Hill, Harry Reid and his liberal cohorts are locked behind closed doors working on their government-run health care experiment, which the American people have made clear they don't support. However, the Democrats are simply not listening.

The American people support common-sense incremental reforms that will make health care more affordable and accessible, and will protect the doctor-patient relationship without adding to the national deficit.  But Democrats aren't interested in that kind of reform.  President Obama and Congressional Democrats support a government-run health care system that raises premiums, increases taxes, and cuts Medicare.

You can stop this bill if you take action today.  I am personally asking you to call, e-mail, or write your Senators TODAY and tell them to vote against this liberal bill, listen to the American people, and put their full focus on creating jobs and stimulating the economy.

Sincerely,

http://www.gop.com/images/thune_sig.jpg

The Honorable John Thune of South Dakota

This is critical, folks! Please look this info over and follow through with a phone call. Even if the office is closed they should have a voice mail option. You can leave a message for your senator(s). This is so easy to follow and so important. They must hear from us on this legislation. I realize that many people are concerned about their healthcare or that of others. This is a genuine concern but please realize that Harry Reid's bill is not the answer. We do not need government run healthcare and do not need the debt that this will place on our country. Generations will be paying for this horrible mess. The healthcare system can be fixed and one of the ways is to allow more competition by allowing insurance companies to work across state lines. This is rediculous that there are so many insurance companies out there and we are stuck with the ones within our state borders. This is nonsence! Please follow through with this and let them hear from you. I heard a clip from one of the Senators, on the radio, saying that this bill was a "bait and switch". These legislators have not even seen the full content of this bill. It was done behind closed doors Call Senators Ben Nelson D of Nebraska and Joe Lieberman D of Conn 202 224 4041 as they are the two moderate Democrats that may still in the end oppose the bill and call your own Senators as well. THIS IS CRITICAL AS IT HAS BEEN TOLD THAT HARRY REID HAS SCHEDULED A CLOUTURE VOTE FOR MONDAY DEC 21 AT 1 am..

The dangerous ground is amazing,.. where is their restraint? They seem to think they poop gold. Yet, I want to quote the bible here, your good intentions are like filthy rags." here is something you can take to the bank. When they reach for more and more power because they think their actions are of the utmost purity, they will strike further and further at our rights. I'm not against helping people with health care. I'm against the way they are doing it. When democrats reach a point where they control most all doctors, and what is medically applicable, we will see their liberal ideals and scientific beliefs moving forward unrestrained. I fear the worst they can do,.. not just regulating mammograms and public service announcements with the age of self-checking for cancer,.. but the ideals they teach in school and the psychology they decide is pertinent. But, the control over the research and development is just as scary as their power Here is my solution, term life insurance. Bump up rational and educated safeguards by making term life insurance investments as a way to be self bonded for health insurance. Then the boost to the economy will be substantial. And a percent of the earned income can be used to help the people who can't work. Or does this sound to responsible. But people should be almost mandated to start saving in this kind of savings account from the first day they work,.. and then we would see a self-reliant people, and a helping people, and a responsible people, that are responsible for themselves. Yes we are a community and thus we should also help those who uneven burdens. For when others fall behind, it is up to us to give them a helping hand.

As Senator Thune has recommended, I have already (many times) sent e-mails to my House Representative and to my two state Senators, urging them to reject this massive waste of money. However, I happen to live in California. My Senators and House member are all hard-line Democrats, and the responses I have received from them are nothing but platitudes. All they do in their responses is echo the Obama party-line doctrine. Here is a copy of an e-mail I sent recently: * * * * * Dear friends and family: I am becoming increasingly afraid that this country is headed down the slippery slope of Socialism. Judging by what has been happening in the last year, if the Republican party cannot pull itself together by election time in 2010, and take back control of both houses of Congress, we are going to be in more trouble than we can imagine! Please forward this message to all of your correspondents. It needs to be seen and understood far and wide. Thanks. * * * * * I attached a recent copy of The Patriot Post, to which I refer you here: http://patriotpost.us/ I highly recommend this on-line publication to all conservatives, and liberals, too, if they want to see what is actually happening in Washington, D.C.

Senator Thune, 1. Stop the bill. 2. Quit messing around and back Ron Paul's son in KY! This is the time to act and take advantage of the dems blunders! Rob

I urge the RNC to buy airtime when the final bill is released for viewing before voting. Please have the bill read on primetime TV, or at least the parts that will take over our healthcare. I think every american should be given the opportunity to tune in and listen to what the democrats want to do to our healthcare. Read the bill on primetime TV so everyone will know what's going to happen, its that important.

The news has gone quiet this afternoon. The attacks on Joe Leiberman have become very sharp. Does this signal the democrats have been beaten? They have found their scape goat in Leiberman? Nelson is in the way too. Perhaps it has dawned on them that no matter what the Senate does in terms of compromise the bill can't make it through the conference process with the house? Or they may be going quiet because the media attention is motivating action on the part of the opponents, like me.
