We Hear Your Voice…And Thank You For It

Tuesday’s results made it official: The GOP grassroots base is back, motivated and not to be messed with…

In my first blog post since yesterday’s victories in both Virginia and New Jersey, I want to thank you—the voters, the supporters, the grassroots…everyone who stood up for our Country and said no, this is not the direction for America.  You took the first step in getting our Country back on track.

On the ground campaigning, I could see it your faces and hear it in your voices…the frustration, the conviction, the certainty.  America heard you and your conservative voices resonated.

Because of your efforts, the Republican Party is once again a bottom-up party.  The Republican Party has once again found its voice.  The great candidates that won last night shared your vision and heard your message.  You energized behind these core Republican conservative principles and candidates and rejected the failed Democrat policies.

Because of your efforts, we are now positioned to show new strength as a Party moving forward.  Republicans will take that momentum into the 2010 mid-term elections and beyond.

You did not waver in your convictions...and the Republican Party will be guided by and through this voice.  I thank you, the grassroots.

You don't need a RINO to win in moderate states. You need principle, a good message that is presented properly, that people can believe in. If you can't win on principle, maybe you have the wrong principle. But I don't think conservatism is the wrong principle. Republican Lite is the wrong principle. We should field, and endorse conservative candidates whenever and whereever we can. This will sharpen our message and we will be the better for it. In the long run, RINO's hurt our cause by undermining principle from within. I will not vote for RINO candidates. That is why McCain didn't get my vote.

The Republican party better wake up and start listening to it's base. We don't want to be "moderate democrats" using a republican name, we don't want the Scozzafava's, the Graham's and the Snowe's we want people that share our conservative views. If the party had been behind Hoffman we would have won NY's 23rd. Shame on you!

We will not support republicans dressed in democrat clothes. It is a disgrace that you wasted so much money on this woman that was a liberal. If we wanted liberal we would vote democrat. Maybe you should think twice about supporting Charlie Crist in Florida. We will not vote for him. We want a true conservative like Marco Rubio. Thanks to Hoffman for your willingness to represent true conservatives. You almost did it. Next time.

It's too bad the GOP spent almost a million dollars on Ms. Scozzafava. Was she not vetted at all? Were her views not known by anyone? The Party of Reagan is not middle-of-the-road, nor do we waiver on our morals, belief in limited government, solid families, low taxes, and states' rights. The GOP must begin Now to speak with a firm, unified (may I say 'loud'?) voice if we are to continue this momentum. Great Job Everyone - now let's take back the White House!

Michael, I place the blame soley on the RNC for Doug Hoffman's defeat in the NY23 election. I'm angry that you have not openly admitted your mistake in endorsing the RINO Scozzafavo. Conservatives revere humility and I suggest you exercise some. I will send my donations directly to the candidates' campaign that I support rather than the RNC until I see a turn-around in the decisions made by RNC state boards. Michael, you were just given an opportunity to explain yourself on FOX News, but you failed to even mention the NY23 race. I'm still not convinced that the RNC is looking out for my best interests.

Don't get any ideas that we are coming back to the Republican party "as is". Bloomberg won, but he's a RINO. Mark Kirk in IL and other RINO candidates will not get my vote. Hoffman proved a STRONG conservative candidate can pull great numbers. Had he been a Republican he'd have won. Learn from that and you'll get my votes.

Congratulations on yesterdays victories. This will mean a lot to the Republican party. As an Independent, conservative voter I have felt terrorized by my government, and that American values have dissappeared. There is hope if the Republican party changes it's ways. The American people need to get back to work not only jobs but with daily life and this will not happen unless we have people in Washington DC that we can trust to work for "The People". I also, have a caution concerning new I just heard on TV. Carly Fioria will be challenging Barbara Boxler in California. There are a lot of EX Hewlett/Packard employees in California and this worm is not very well thought of by myself (retired HP) and many others. You might consider this.

In a hard-fought race on principle, Patriot Doug Hoffman forced out the ultra liberal turncoat RINO Dede Scozzafava who then endorsed the Democrat Owens. And, the vote totals revealed late last night that Bill Owen's margin of victory was the same percentage of votes cast for Scozzafava. The moral of the story? Had the Republican Party chosen the right candidate they would have easily won the election!!! It is time for the Republicans to select true conservatives instead of these week kneed middle of the road RINOs like Scozzafava, Snowe, Collins, Graham, and the now Democrat Specter. I reserve the donations I would normally give to the GOP and give it directly to the campaigns of real conservatives like Mr. Hoffman.

Thank you very much. We really needed those victories in VA and NJ. There is a lesson to be learned here and I hope te GOP leadership learned it. We can win when we field strong conservative candidates and we fail when we try to appease those who do not share our views. Let us hope that we never repeat the debacle of NY 23. Our party handed that seat to the Democrats on a silver platter. I would like to see us get rid of everyone associated with the decision to put up Scozzafava as a GOP candidate.

I think the wins in NJ and VA were certainly a move in the right direction(pardon the pun). I am concerned that a seat was lost in upstate NY. I am impressed that the conservative candidate, Hoffman, lost only by 4 points and was a virtual unknown. The problem is that the "liberal" Repub. was endorsed by Repub. leaders. She showed her true colors by throwing her support to the Dem when it was evident that she could not win. The Repub leaders must see that the people reject these candidates time and again. They realize they might as well vote for the Dem if they are both liberal. I am a "tea party patriot" and am frustrated that the Repub leaders continue to feel we are "not sophisticated". Let it be seen that the recent conservative movement was begun by this "unsophisticated" group. We are ready for the RNC and Repub leaders to get it.
