We need to reach out to more minorities like the Hispanics without compromising our beliefs and values. We need to make them feel welcomed and that they belong. The Democrats have a way of making it appear that the Republicans are the party of the elites and they are for the working people when in fact it is quite the opposite…We need to counter that impression! I am at lost [sic] as to how to go about it. As an individual and a Hispanic minority, I make it a point to voice this truth every chance I get. How can we get this message across nation wide?

Helen, thank you for your post.  The Republican Party has led the efforts to get all Americans a seat at the lunch counter—from abolition to the civil rights movement to welfare reform and beyond.  But we also recognize what it will take for this and future generations to own the diner.  It’s not by empowering government but by empowering the individual.  The virtue of economic empowerment applies to all Americans.  And that’s what Republicans stand for: a party of economic empowerment for all.  We must commit ourselves to showing the many faces of the Republican Party.  We are strong because we are diverse.  And it’s through our diversity and commitment to these shared principles that we will reach out and welcome more communities into our Party.  The focus of my chairmanship will be to take this message to neighborhoods and communities across the country.  Our website is just one lever that we will use to achieve that goal.

I am concerned that as a Minnesotan, not one GOP representative has answered me, despite my support. I have tried to see Governor Tim Pawlenty and have been denied access. I have written Erik Paulsen and called his office -- no answer. I have written John Kline and Michelle Bachmann -- no response. I have written at least 20 emails. I have written Michael Steele -- no response. Where are the values of CONSERVATISM when I am not allowed access to my leaders? Please try to correct this -- as a senior citizen I thought that the GOP messages of wanting my ideas was true. I find, instead, that I never get to share ideas. I thought Democracy was part of the new GOP. Please respond with suggestions. I have written Senators from adjoining states in Illinois and in South Dakota, asking for dialogue. Still, no answer! Please help!

I know there are hundreds of African-American Conservatives in this area, s.w. Ohio; we need to start a groundswell for the 2010's and promote the candidates who believe in personal reaponsibility, small federal government, low taxes, strong national defense and agressive promotion of the sovereignty of our country! What grounds were gained by the CRM of the 1950's-1970's are being eroded by the residue of the Jacksons, Sharptons and their counterparts who call our skin color a "condition" and pimp that condition to retain careers at the tax trough. In honor of our fathers, grandparents and mothers, let's storm this nation and take back the potential to contribute, be heard, and make a moral and ethical difference that looks like we care about "what we've got to loose"!

I agree somewhat with Stacey. The Republican party must start to differentiate itself from the Dems. Right now, even with Mr. Steele at the 'helm' we are still a shadow of the Dems. We should be the conservative alternative to what has become the Democrat Socialist Party. But we cannot do this with so many RINO's being endorsed by the Repubs! We will find out just how many of both parties will defect to a third party next election: soon there will be a strong candidate in another party and we will all suffer. The Dems would just like that since it would almost guarantee that they would stay in power for the foreseeable future. Why would the Repubs endorse Scozzafava? Now she has endorsed the Democratic candidate! Michael Steele just where are your priorities??? When we lose with complain, when we win we act like the Dems. If this keeps on happening and we get more RINO's I will ditch the party! BTW RINO is just another name for Dem!
