When is the GOP going to help develop a conservative alternative to AARP? They are not our friends.

The victories in Virginia and New Jersey are good news for conservatives. I say conservatives because I think that the RNC still doesn't get it. The prime example is the 23rd race in New York. The local leadership there chose a FLAMING LIBERAL as the republican choice: Dede Scozzafava. Seeing this as no choice at all, conservatives threw their support behind independent candidate Doug Hoffman. What did the RNC do? It pumped hundreds of thousands of dollars into the Scozzafava campaign. What did Scozzafava do? When it became apparent that she was "outed" she threw her support behind the liberal democrat in the race, the net effect of was to throw the hundreds of thousands of dollars of conservative money which had been contributed to the RNC behind the liberal democrat who ultimately won. Yesterday, on the Laura Ingraham show, she had someone from the RNC discussing issues involving those who call themselves conservatives. Her guest talked about those who were involved in the Tea Bag movement and said "they are unsophisticated but there is a place for them in the Republican Party." This type of arrogance and condescending attitude typifies the current state of Republican Party leadership: You are just like the current Government Leadership, you think that you know better what is good for those who would be in your membership rather than turning to them. Sure you survey them, but you do it on your terms. You are willing to include those who participate in the Teabag events and show up at townhall meetings and protest socialized medicine, but again, it is going to be on your terms. How about this? How about really running a grass roots organization. Rather than running a party based upon "Leadership Knows Best" How about actually drafting people who are active participants in some of these community events. How about exercising some real scrutiny of candidates who run as Republicans in name only? There are two ways this can go: Either the Republican Party makes way for conservatism or dies in favor of a new Conservative movement.

Excellent... the GOP took two state Governorships. However Mr. Steele, this is NOT an endorsement of you or the GOP. This is a "conservative" reaction to an overly socialist/liberal agenda we see facing us. As much as you'd like to think that the 'conservative' movement isn't real, it is and if you abandon them again, you'll lose everything, again. And tell your handlers to lay off Palin. We like her BECAUSE she isn't one of you insiders.
