I have just read that Michael Steele removed Trevor Francis as the Communications Director of the RNC. I would like to make a suggestion directly to Michael Steele. If this is read by anyone at the RNC who could pass on this idea to him, please do so. My idea. I believe Sarah Palin would make the ideal Communications Director for the RNC at this moment in time. Michael Steele has spoken about bringing back into the party many Conservatives who believe the Party has drifted toward being too moderate. If you choose a moderate to liberal communications director, he or she will not have the intuition or the gut instincts to know how to reach out to Conservatives. In two sentences any Conservative will know if you genuinely think as they do. Reaching out to Sarah Palin, whose clear goal is to speak to Conservatives across the country, will give her the opportunity to continue to spread her message to anyone with an open mind. Sarah Palin is not trying to build her base, but try to return the only Party she has ever belong to, to its Party Plank of common sense Conservative ideas. This being said this position as Communications Director will offer her a permanent platform to stay on the national scene. I believe Conservatives across the country, like myself, will flock back to the Republican Party and enlarge the Tent we need to win back the Congress and the White house. I have no idea if Sarah Palin would ever accept this position, since clearly she would not be in charge. I also have no doubt many in the RNC would probably resign if she does. That would be their loss. Sarah has express her commitment to the Republican Party over and over. When she outed people in the Party in Alaska, she didn't turn and run. She stayed in and came up through the ground floor and took on the existing entrenched candidates and beat them by playing by the rules within the Party. She is committed as anyone to the Party. John McCain observed this and rewarded her for it. I believe Michael Steele should seriously consider making this offer. He and Sarah would make a great Team and a statement to the Nation, that the Republican Party welcomes all to the Party and they are ready for the fight that will determine the direction this Nation will take into the future. PS I'm just a Conservative with an idea. Please pass it on.
