“If At First You Don’t Succeed…”

Stimulus II is coming down the pike.

Just don’t call it that.

House Speaker Pelosi made it clear last month- "We do not have plans for an additional stimulus package. But we do have plans to stimulate the economy…” she said.

Today, The Hill quotes Democratic sources who predict it’s possible the House will see an “economic package on the floor sometime in December.”

Talk of a second stimulus in the House comes on the heels of Senator Reid’s statement last week that Senate Democrats will take up a new job-creation bill and, more recently, the White House announcement of a jobs summit and tour.

Democrats are forced to take another stab at passing something to stimulate the economy and create jobs because their first package has failed.

When the Obama Administration first began selling their “stimulus” package, they promised it would keep U.S. unemployment below 8%. We are now at 10.2% with economists predicting it could go higher still.

It is no wonder the Democrats would be thinking about a second stimulus with all indicators pointing to more job loss, not creation.

A good first step would be to scrap the job-killing initiatives called government-run health care and cap and trade.
