Republican National Committee and the Indiana Republican Party Announce D2H Victory Campaign

August 2010

WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee (RNC) today announced Indiana’s D2H Victory campaign to establish the grassroots political operation to ensure Republican candidates are successful in November.  In partnership with The Indiana Republican Party (IN GOP), the RNC is providing funding and resources to build the infrastructure to support Republican candidates.

The RNC will devote the resources necessary to enhance the IN GOP’s ability to effectively reach Republican voters and tap into the state’s grassroots volunteer base.  This investment in Republican state parties is a critical part of the RNC’s Delaware to Hawaii (“D2H”) strategy to compete aggressively in all fifty states.

“The liberal lineup of Brad Ellsworth, Joe Donnelly, Baron Hill and Trent Van Haaften reads as more of a who’s-who of President Obama and Nancy Pelosi’s most trusted lap-dogs and the RNC is excited to be partnering with the IN GOP to turn these seats red,” said RNC Chairman Michael Steele. “The accomplishments of the Republican Party start with energized Hoosiers who go door-to-door, make phone calls, attend events, and reach out to Republican voters in their own communities and neighborhoods.  Republicans across the great state of Indiana are sending a clear message to Ellsworth, Donnelly, Hill, Van Haaften and Indiana Democrats that it’s time to change the tax, borrow and spend policies of President Obama that are killing our economy.”

“We are thrilled that Chairman Steele and the RNC are investing in Indiana with these vital resources as we move closer to election day.  These efforts and the hard work of countless volunteers from now through November will boost Sen. Coats and our Republican candidates across the state,” said Murray Clark, Chairman of the IN GOP.  “This cutting-edge political operation will help capture the overwhelming support Republicans are seeing day-in and day-out.  It will also harness the displeasure Hoosiers are voicing with the Obama-Ellsworth big government agenda of Democrats in Washington and turn that dissent into votes for Republican candidates who will get our economy and country back on the right track. ”

In 2009, Republicans made 5.8 million voter contacts and put in 165,715 volunteer hours, resulting in victories across the country.  In total, last year Republicans won 26 of 37 special elections and played a major role in more than 30 successful races.  The RNC is building on this success with strategic investments in key states and districts that will help deliver Republican victories in November.
