Republican National Committee And The Republican Party Of Wisconsin Announce D2H Victory Campaign

August 2010

WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee (RNC) today announced Wisconsin’s D2H Victory campaign to establish the grassroots political operation to ensure Republican candidates are successful in November.  In partnership with the Republican Party of Wisconsin (RPW), the RNC is providing funding and resources to build the in-state GOP structure to support Republican leaders.

The RNC will devote the resources necessary to enhance the RPW’s ability to effectively reach Republican voters and tap into the state’s grassroots volunteer base.  This investment in Republican state parties is a critical part of the RNC’s Delaware to Hawaii (“D2H”) strategy to compete aggressively in all fifty states.

“In a coordinated effort to fire Feingold and take back the governor’s mansion, the RNC is excited to be partnering with the RPW to win both of these important races in November,” said RNC Chairman Michael Steele.  “The accomplishments of the Republican Party start with the energized volunteers who go door-to-door, make phone calls, attend events, and reach out to Republican voters in their own communities and neighborhoods.  Republicans in Wisconsin are sending a clear message to Russ Feingold and Democrats across the state that it’s time to change the tax, borrow and spend policies of President Obama that are killing our economy and pushing our children and grandchildren further into debt.”

Wisconsin Republicans continued to pace the nation for grassroots efforts, with more than 100,000 individual voter contacts in a single day this past Saturday, topping all other states in the country.  With every day that passes, Wisconsin becomes more and more of a battleground state and Republicans are working to make sure the battle is won on November 2nd.

“I would like to thank Chairman Steele for providing the RPW with these vital resources as we inch closer toward November.  The resources are further proof that Chairman Steele and the RNC are invested heavily in Ron Johnson, Scott Walker and every Republican candidate across the state this November,” said Reince Priebus, Chairman of the RPW.  “This sophisticated political operation will help capture the overwhelming support Republicans are seeing day-in and day-out and harness the displeasure of the big government agenda of Democrats across the state and in Washington.  Wisconsinites couldn’t be more energized and ready to fight for Wisconsin and I am excited to be a part of it.”

In 2009, Republicans made 5.8 million voter contacts and put in 165,715 volunteer hours, resulting in victories across the country.  In total, last year Republicans won 26 of 37 special elections and played a major role in more than 30 successful races.  The RNC is building on this success with strategic investments in key states and districts that will help deliver Republican victories in November.
