WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement on Representative Gabrielle Giffords announcement that she will be leaving Congress:

“I want to wish Gabrielle Giffords all the best as she leaves Congress to continue her recuperation,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “Over the last year, Congresswoman Giffords has inspired America with her determination and gentle spirit.

“While her colleagues will undoubtedly miss her presence in Washington, she will remain in our thoughts and prayers. We are thankful for her service and pray for her full recovery.”
