WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement today:
“236 years ago today, on December 16, 1773, a group of colonial Americans came together and took a stand against tyranny and oppression by boarding a British ship and throwing its contents into the harbor. Today, America is facing another threat to our freedom but this time it is not a foreign enemy but a domestic legislative enemy that will do irreparable damage to this country for generations if allowed to pass. The Obama administration’s and Congressional Democrats’ government-run health care bill is a serious threat to American liberty and on the day we remember our founding fathers’ brave actions in Boston, I encourage all concerned Americans to take a stand and let the politicians in Washington know where they stand on health care reform.”
