WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee (RNC) raised $17.7 million during the first quarter of 2011. In March alone, the RNC brought in over $7 million, shrinking the debt to under $20 million and increasing the cash on hand to over $3 million. Additionally, the RNC raised more major donor contributions in the first quarter of 2011 than the first quarter of 2009 and 2010 combined.
“Raising the millions of dollars needed to run an efficient and effective RNC has been and will continue to be my top priority as Chairman,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “We have made great strides in restoring trust and credibility with major and small donors alike, who are alarmed about the direction this President is taking the country. Based on the success of the past three months, I am confident that we will have the resources necessary to fully support our nominee and make Barack Obama a one-term president.”
