WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement today:
“With 54,000 more Americans finding themselves out of work this month and unemployment rising to 9.6 percent, President Obama’s ‘Recovery Summer’ has ended right where it began, with Americans continuing to lose their jobs and unable to find new ones. President Obama’s endless defense of his failed policies has fallen flat with the American people who see a White House that is as ineffective as it is out of touch. Every time President Obama and Congressional Democrats claim that the economy is ‘heading in the right direction,’ they insult the intelligence of American families who are struggling to get by. It is no wonder Americans are turning to Republican candidates and their pro-growth solutions which will put an end to the economic uncertainty and put a check on this White House’s reckless fiscal policies.”
