WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement on the Kansas primary election results today:
“Congratulations to Sam Brownback, Jerry Moran, and all the Republican candidates who won their primaries tonight. Strong Republican leadership from Kansas is essential to moving America’s economy back on the path towards prosperity. In the midst of a skyrocketing deficit and jobless recovery, it’s clear that we need to stop the big-spending Democrat policies of the Obama Administration. Now, as Democrats threaten to raise taxes despite 9.5 percent national unemployment, it is more important than ever to elect Republicans in November. With Sam Brownback and Jerry Moran leading the Republican slate, I am fully confident that Kansas will remain solidly opposed to the wasteful spending and outrageous growth of government that we’ve seen under the Obama administration.”
