WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement on the New York primary election results tonight:
“I want to congratulate Carl Paladino, Joe DioGuardi, Jay Townsend and all of the New York Republican nominees who won their primaries tonight. The reckless tax-and-spend agenda in Albany and Washington, D.C. has placed New York’s economy in fiscal turmoil and done nothing to relieve the state from high unemployment. Instead of trying to spend our way out of the recession, these Republican candidates will start reining-in reckless spending, lowering taxes for families and small businesses, and creating jobs for the people of New York. In November, New Yorkers will reject the failed economic policies of the past by electing these strong Republican candidates.”
