WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement on the Rhode Island primary election results tonight:
“Tonight, Rhode Island voters sent a clear message that they want candidates on the ballot who are focused on growing the economy and creating jobs. This evening, they did just that, by nominating Republicans who are committed to smaller government, lower taxes, and fiscal responsibility. This core group of strong Republican candidates led by John Robitaille, John Loughlin and Mark Zaccaria, and reinforced by an unprecedented slate of state legislative challengers, will fight for pro-growth economic policies and commonsense ideas to strengthen the Ocean State economy. I am fully confident that voter energy and enthusiasm will help our Republican candidates secure victories in November. The Republican Party stands united behind all Rhode Island Republicans and will continue to assist them to ensure they are victorious in November.”
