As Republicans look to November 2010 with an optimistic eye toward victory, the Republican National Committee is preparing a Victory operation of its own. In close races around the country, volunteers and grassroots activity can make the difference between a winning and losing campaign. All the phone calls and door knocks encouraging supporters to make time on Election Day to go to the polls boost turnout and lead our candidates into elected office. Because it’s this extra push provided by supporters in every state and every district around the country that nets the final few votes, we term this operation the Victory Program.
With many opportunities for victory this fall, RNC Victory is busy staffing up and putting boots on the ground in key states earlier than ever. As we progress through the spring and summer, supporters will see offices with phonebanks open up across the country. Check back to our website often to find your nearest Victory Center and stop by to lend a ... more

Adding to the increasingly troubling environment for Democrats in Iowa, Congressman Leonard Boswell has come under fire recently for his financial ties to the scandal-plagued Charles Rangel (D-NY), who last week was stripped of his leadership on the House Ways and Means Committee following the disclosure of a myriad of questionable events and incidents. With Iowans souring on Democratic incumbents – recent polls show Democrat Governor Chet Culver trailing GOP hopefuls by as much as 20 points – the news of Boswell’s receipt of approximately $50,000 in campaign cash from Rangel spells more bad news for Iowa Democrats. Adding insult to injury, Boswell has thus far kept mum on the issue of returning the contributions or donating it to charity, instead appearing content to sit on $50,000 of dirty money. What’s even more astounding is how Boswell stacks up against other recipients; outside of Rangel’s New York colleagues, only two Representatives –Boccieri of Ohio and Minnick of ... more

2010 presents a unique opportunity for Republicans in Wisconsin. With potentially 2 competitive statewide races, Republicans across the state have their work cut out for them but could bring about the change needed to get the state back on track after years of liberal Democrat governance.
Democrat Governor Jim Doyle has announced that he will not be seeking re-election in 2010, giving Republicans an opportunity to pick up a governorship in a state that went for President Obama in 2008 53% to 40%. Several strong Republican candidates have emerged in the primary race, which will be held on Tuesday September 14. The Cook Political Report has this race currently rated as a “toss-up”.
Senator Russ Feingold, a Democrat, has shown recent vulnerability in statewide polling against former Republican Governor Tommy Thompson. In a hypothetical matchup, a February 17th Rasmussen Poll had Thompson at 48% and Feingold at 43%. Although there are already many strong declared candidates to ... more

Staying true to his vow to “remake America” from the ground up and get health care legislation across the finish line in the coming weeks, President Obama kicked-off another round on the health care campaign trail today by hitting up the birthplace of liberty – Philadelphia.
As a pivotal electoral-vote state, the President knows that he must gain the support of PA voters in order to pass his health care bill, lest he risk losing key supporters for his Party in 2010, and himself in 2012. But unfortunately for the President, only 25% of PA residents support the Obama-Reid-Pelosi government-run health care bill. In fact, 60% of adults statewide believe that Obama and his liberal Congress should consider alternative reform measures instead of moving forward with the proposals that have failed to gain support and have languished in the House and Senate for months.
Along with the rest of America, Pennsylvanians have known the details of the government-run health care experiment as ... more
