In January, the Republican National Committee’s Budget Committee met to review the fiscal results of 2009 and approve an aggressive RNC 2010 Budget.
The Budget Committee uniformly concluded that Chairman Steele’s management of the RNC’s fiscal condition has positioned the RNC for success in 2010.
The RNC raised $81.3 million from contributions with an average contribution of $39.00. The RNC concluded the year with $8.4 million in the bank and zero debt; in spite of projecting as late as June of 2009 to finish the year with $3.5 million to carry in to 2010. The RNC finished the year in the black after supporting victories in Virginia and New Jersey gubernatorial races and 26 of 37 Special Elections, including providing significant support to the victory of Scott Brown in Massachusetts.
At the same time the RNC was supporting campaigns across the country, the Chairman invested in the future of the RNC by attracting a record number of new donors to the Party.
