March 2010

WASHINGTON - Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement today:

“Since 1943, our country has recognized the month of March as Red Cross Month. Founded in 1881, the mission of the Red Cross has been largely dependent on the support of volunteers to help provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

“President Reagan reminds us that “No matter how big and powerful government gets, and the many services it provides, it can never take the place of volunteers.” As we salute the American Red Cross and those who support this great cause, I invite you to participate in the RNC's national blood drive initiative “I Give Republican Red”.
