Poor President Obama. He constantly insists that he's making a bipartisan effort on health care reform. If we’re to take him at his word, then a lot of Republican invitations to discussions must be getting lost in delivery, because time after time he meets only with Democrats when discussing the issue!
According to Roll Call, “President Barack Obama is expected to meet with Senate Democrats in a special caucus Sunday afternoon as the chamber continues a rare weekend debate of its health care reform bill, sources said.”
It would help if he bothered to include Republicans in some of these meetings. Instead he’s hunkering down with Democrats to figure out how to ram this monstrosity through before Christmas.
Of course, our first piece of advice for him would be to follow his principles and promise to veto this bill since it violates most of his stated views that reform shouldn’t hurt seniors, raise taxes, increase the deficit or cause people to lose their plans.
