0 CommentsBack in April, Obama declared he would restore “science to its rightful place” and that “the days of science taking a back seat to ideology are over.” His administration should start by working on the “science” of how they count jobs.
Last Friday, we released a memo outlining why the White House’s claim that over 1 million jobs were saved or created should not be believed. Several folks in the media have called Obama out on his fuzzy stimulus math, including The Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza and The Christian Science Monitor’s Dante Chinni, who were interviewed by Frank Sesno last Friday on WAMU 88.5 FM:

As Politico’s Eamon Javers wrote yesterday, even the White House can’t tell the difference between jobs created and jobs saved. Ed DeSeve, Obama’s stimulus czar, admits that “the White House left it up to the people reporting the numbers to make that determination for themselves.”
