Columbus Summit Update

February 2010

Posted by: administrator

Ohio gubernatorial candidate John Kasich just took the stage at today's summit to a standing ovation from fired up Republicans from Ohio and elsewhere in the region. He followed former White House Press Secretary Dana Perino, who spoke to the attendees about the importance of believing in themselves and stood as an example that women can do anything in our Party.

Former Representative Kasich is speaking about the importance of making sure that we hand down an America to our children and grandchildren that is even greater than the country that was handed down to us. We can do that by educating our children, lowering taxes on individuals and small businesses and providing a government that is closer to the people.  He's absolutely right when he says that the legacy of America is handing it down to the next generation better than we found it.

During his tenure as Budget Chairman in the United States House of Representatives, the budget was balanced for the first time since men walked on the Moon. This record of fiscal discipline sets Kasich apart in Ohio, and sets Republicans apart from the Democrat Congress in Washington and the Obama White House. Speaking clearly on issues that matter - jobs, the economy, national security and government that works - is powering the Republican momentum felt here in Ohio and all across the country.  If the enthusiasm at today's summit is any indication, that momentum will only grow throughout the rest of 2010.
