November 2010

As we gather tomorrow with friends and family for a Thanksgiving feast, we all have much for which we should be thankful.
First and foremost, we should remember and keep in our prayers the brave men and women who wear our country’s uniform. Many of them will spend their Thanksgiving Day standing a post far from home, away from their friends and families, so that we can live free in the greatest nation on Earth. We can never thank them enough.
As Americans, we should also give thanks for the historic victories that were won this November and remember the volunteers all across the country who made those victories possible. Over the past two years I was blessed to have the opportunity to travel the nation to meet and work with these grassroots volunteers. Their dedication to our cause, and their faithfulness to the founding principles of our nation, are things I will never forget. They are the reason we will enjoy a Republican majority in Congress next year, and they will give us the strength to win back the White House in 2012.
There is so much to be thankful for this year, and so much to do next year and beyond to make sure that we pass on to our children and grandchildren an America that continues to provide the opportunities with which we have been blessed. It is altogether proper that on this Thanksgiving Day we pause to remember all that is possible because we live in the freest nation on Earth, and give thanks that we are blessed enough to call ourselves Americans.
Happy Thanksgiving!
