At a speaking engagement last week, IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman suggested that the IRS would target people who are uninsured under ObamaCare with attempts to “reduce or confiscate” the tax refunds of those individuals.

This should come as no surprise to anyone who has followed the development of President Obama’s health care takeover.  Having already stuffed the bill with billions of dollars in new tax hikes and penalties, it was just a matter of time until the Democrats targeted tax refunds as well. 

No matter how the Obama Administration tries to spin their way out of their pledge not to raise taxes on incomes less than $250,000 a year, there is simply no denying the fact that this is the most aggressive Administration in decades when it comes to using your money to fund their initiatives.  According to the Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee, the Obama White House has already enacted 14 different tax provisions that will impact middle class families.  Twelve of those provisions were included in the ObamaCare legislation that carries with it more than $570 billion in tax increases. 

Tax Freedom Day could fall later and later, with the American people now working into April just to pay off their federal tax bills.  Now, even our tax refunds are in the crosshairs of the Obama Administration as they look to implement their government takeover of health care.  The goal of government should not be to “reduce” tax refunds, it should be to lift some of the ever growing tax burden on working families.
