Demetra DeMonte was elected to the Republican National Committee as the National Committeewoman from Illinois in June of 2008. She is currently the secretary of the RNC and she serves on the Rules Committee and the Executive Committee.

Previously, DeMonte served as the state central committeewoman for the Illinois Republican Party, the national member liaison for the State Party Coalition Program Development in 2010 and the secretary of the Midwest Region from 2009-2011. She was also both the chairman and vice chairman of the Tazewell County Republican Party.
