Helen Van Etten
National Committeewoman
Helen was elected National Committeewoman for the Kansas Republican Party in January of 2008. Previously, she was an at-large member of the Kansas Republican Executive Committee and President of the Kansas-Federation of Republican Women, Shawnee Chapter. Helen was a committee member for Kan Be Healthy Committee and Kansas Speech-Language-Hearing Association from 2004-2007 and was a Member of the American Business Women’s Association, New York Speech-Language Association and Taiwan Speech-Language Association. From 1998-2006, she also served as a Board Member for the Kansas Commission for Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
Since joining the RNC, Helen was a delegate to the 2012 and 2008 Republican National Convention and has served on the Budget, Rules, and RNC Site Selection Committees. During the RNC summer meeting of 2012, she has been elected to serve on the RNC Executive meeting from Midwestern region. She is currently an Audiologist for the Topeka Public School system and National Board Member for the National Federation of the Grand Order of Pachyderm Clubs. Helen also founded and is President of the Shawnee County Pachyderm Club and a Member of the American Speech-Language Association, Kansas Speech-Language Association, and Heartland Sertoma Club. She is on the Board of Governors for the Eisenhower Excellence in Public Service Series and Board of Kansas Federation Republican Women and volunteers with the Kansas Neurological Institute. She recently has become a Trustee of the Maggie’s List, a Federal Political Action Committee created to raise awareness and funds to increase the number of conservative women elected to federal public office.
Helen holds a Masters Degree in Audiology from Wayne State University and a Doctorate in Audiology from University of Florida. She is a Member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Topeka where she resides with her husband, Roger.
