James Smack was elected to the Republican National Committee as National Committeeman in May 2012.

James is currently the Vice Chairman of the Nevada Republican Party, and served as acting chairman for the state party for three months.  James was chairman of the Churchill County Republican Central Committee for two years, and served as a member of the NRP Elections, Platform and Budget Committees.  He has served as a registered volunteer lobbyist to the Nevada Legislature on firearms and Republican Party issues for the past two legislative sessions.  

James is a life member of the Stillwater Firearms Association in Fallon, and is a member of the NRA and Gun Owners of America.  James also served as the vice president of the United National Weight Pull Association for two years.  He works as a branch manager for Wells Fargo Bank.
