Carol Mumford
National Committeewoman
Carol Mumford was elected as the National Committeewoman from Rhode Island in June of 2008 and re-elected in June of 2012. She has served on the RNC Technology and Rules Committees and also on the Rules Committee for the Republican National Convention both in 2008 and 2012. She has attended several Republican National Conventions.
Currently, Mrs. Mumford is Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island; Vice-Chair of the Rebuild Rhode Island Foundation for Policy Research; Secretary of the literary group Dodeka, and a newly elected member of the Brown University / Butler Hospital Institutional Review Board. She is also a member of the Rhode Island Republican State Central Committee and the Scituate Republican Town Committee.
Previously, Mrs. Mumford served as a state Representative in the Rhode Island House of Representatives. She was the Ranking Member of the Finance Committee, the Senior Deputy Minority Leader, and the Minority House Fiscal Policy Advisor. She was an English teacher for many years and the English Department Chair of Scituate High School. She also served as Adjunct Faculty at Rhode Island College and was a member of the Rhode Island Council of Teachers of English, the New England Council of Teachers of English and the National Council of Teachers of English.
