RNC Chairman Reince Priebus And Co-Chairman Sharon Day’s Memorial Day
WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chairman Sharon Day released the following message on Memorial Day:
“Today we remember the men and women who gave their lives for our country. We honor their sacrifice and heroism, which gave birth to our nation, preserved our union, defended our freedoms, and brought liberty to the oppressed,” said Chairman Priebus.
“At the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., there’s a wall of 4,048 gold stars, each representing 100 service members lost in the war. In front of it are the words, ‘Here we mark the price of freedom.’ That’s what this day is about: today we mark the price of freedom.”
“Memorial Day is also a call to prayer. We pray for the families who have lost their loved ones in war. We pray for all the members of our armed services, and we pray for peace,” said Co-Chairman Day.
“As we each pay tribute in our own ways—memorial services, concerts, parades, and moments of silence—let’s reaffirm our unwavering support to our men and women in uniform. And let us vow to remember always those who gave their lives to secure the blessings of liberty.”
