WASHINGTON - The Republican National Committee (RNC) has released a new web video “The First Step,” highlighting Democrats in Washington who believe that we do not have a spending problem. Our nation’s problem is spending and the first step to fixing a problem is admitting you have one.

“Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Congressional Democrats simply do not believe that we have a spending problem,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “Every day families across this country are forced to watch their spending and live within their means. There’s no reason that shouldn’t be the case in Washington. Rather than focusing on solutions, Obama proposes more tax hikes. The undisputed ‘Debt King’ has already added more than $6 trillion to the national debt and has run up four consecutive trillion dollar deficits. Obama and his Democratic buddies in Congress are clearly not serious about our nation’s economic problems.

“House Republicans are proposing commonsense solutions that would reduce spending and work to restore our nation’s economy. Instead of admitting we have a problem, Obama and the Democrats would rather find more tax increases and continue to spend more money we do not have.”
