CBO Director Said He Hasn’t Seen A Proposal From Obama On Replacing The Sequester
Today, CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf Said It’s Hard To Score Obama’s Proposal To Replace The Sequester Because He Hasn’t Seen Such A Proposal. SEN. ROGER WICKER (R-MS): “The President a few days ago proposed a ‘balanced approach’ to paying for sequestration in another way involving revenue increases and a different approach to making the budget savings. What would be the score of the President’s proposal in this regard?” CBO DIRECTOR DOUGLAS ELMENDORF: “So Senator, we have not seen a specific proposal, so I don’t know what it would be – ” SEN. WICKER: “You know I haven’t seen a specific proposal either, so it’s hard to score that speech that the President made, isn’t it?” ELMENDORF: “Yes, Senator.” (Committee On The Budget, U.S. Senate, Hearing, 2/12/13)
