McCain's Jobs for America Economic Plan
John McCain has proposed a comprehensive Jobs for America plan to grow the economy, create more and better jobs and get our country moving again. John McCain will reform government, achieve energy security, and ensure that health care and a quality education are affordable and available to all Americans.
- With millions of American families hurting, John McCain will act quickly and decisively to meet our economic challenges. He will implement the reforms needed to promote the country's economic growth both in the near-term and the long-term.
- John McCain's Jobs for America economic plan will make it easier for small businesses to grow and create jobs. Small businesses are the job engine of America. A recent report says small businesses have created 233,000 jobs so far this year while other sectors are losing jobs.
- Unlike John McCain, Barack Obama plans to slow our economy by raising taxes, continuing wasteful spending, imposing mandates and isolating America.
Pro-Growth, Pro-Job Creation Tax Policy:
MIDDLE CLASS TAX CUTS: John McCain will cut taxes on middle class families. He will phase out and eliminate the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) saving a middle class family with children an average of over $2,700. He will also double the personal exemption for dependents.
PRO-GROWTH TAX POLICY: John McCain will keep taxes low by fighting efforts to raise taxes and making it harder to raise taxes. He will keep the current rates on dividends and capital gains while permitting businesses to immediately deduct the cost of equipment and technology.
SIMPLER TAXES: John McCain proposes an alternative new and simpler tax system. When this is enacted, all who wish to stay under the current system could still do so, but everyone else could choose a vastly less complicated system with two tax rates and a generous standard deduction.
- CONTRAST: Barack Obama will raise taxes on American families and small businesses. Barack Obama will raise taxes, especially on some of the 23 million small business owners in America. He has proposed higher income taxes, Social Security taxes, capital gains and dividend taxes, energy taxes and taxes on businesses.
Better Care At Lower Costs For Every American:
HEALTH CARE REFORM: John McCain proposed comprehensive health care reform that will address rising costs and make the system more responsive to the needs of American families.
- CONTRAST: Barack Obama will make it harder for small businesses to expand and create jobs. Barack Obama will impose a "pay or play" health mandate on small business adding up to $12,000 to the cost of employing anyone with a family. That means new jobs will not be created.
