Air Claire is at it again, and using all the tools in her toolbox to fight dirty in her up-hill battle to re-election. This time, she’s using a court order from a federal judge, that she personally recommended for the position, to attack one of her Republican opponents.
Judge Audrey Flessig is characterized by McCaskill herself as a friend for “many years.” In fact, McCaskill even took to the Floor to tout it being “an honor to recommend her to the president” for her current judgeship.
Their relationship is further complicated by the $1,250 that Judge Flessig’s husband has donated to McCaskill’s current re-election bid, adding to the more than $6,000 in previous giving history since 2005.
Let’s not forget, this is not the first time Air Claire has used political office to her advantage. In 2011, she admitted to $287,000 in unpaid taxes on her private plane, the same year she billed taxpayers for a political flight on her private jet. In 2017, she even took action to hide travel on her private plane from the public. All of this while thinking that “normal people” can afford private planes.
“Air Claire will do anything to save her seat in the U.S. Senate – and that includes using a ruling from a personal friend and federal judge to try to tear down her Republican opponents. Missourians deserve a Senator who will stand up for their best interests, not someone who uses political office for their own personal gain.” -- RNC Spokesperson Christiana Purves
