During her tenure as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton failed in cybersecurity time and time again. Ironically, today she is having a fundraiser at a hackers convention centered on “cybersecurity.” Here are some key topics she is sure to cover:
Where do we begin? This fundraiser comes on the heels of Clinton’s criminal investigation for her homebrew basement server that she exclusively used as America’s top diplomat. The FBI found Clinton and her aides to be “extremely careless” in their handling of classified material. Also, the criminal investigation found that Clinton’s top aides had wiped their servers to, in the words of FBI Director James Comey, “preclude forensic investigation.” Elevating the national security threat posed by Clinton’s secret server, the FBI said it was possible that “hostile actors” gained access to Clinton’s email correspondence as Secretary of State.
The only thing that makes Clinton’s horrible cybersecurity track record worse is the constant lies and spin coming from her since March of last year – which are being called out by fact checkers (see here and here). Clinton said she used only one device for email, but the FBI found she used “multiple.” Clinton insisted there was no classified material, but the FBI found she sent or received over 100 emails that were classified at the time they were transmitted. Clinton claimed her secret server was secure, but the FBI couldn’t rule out that foreign hackers had gained access to her server. Finally, Clinton insisted that her lawyers did not wipe their servers, but the FBI found the opposite to be true.
We can only think of one possible explanation for this fundraiser; Clinton is trying to be the candidate of the hackers, as well as the billionaires, the pharmaceutical companies, the hedge funds, and Wall Street.
