I’m sure by now you’ve seen that the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act has passed and is headed to President Trump’s desk for his signature. You’ve probably also seen that AT&T announced they’re paying a special $1,000 bonus for employees and committing to an extra $1 billion in capital expenditures thanks to the lower corporate tax rate.
This is a big deal for Floridians. Not only does AT&T employ more than 14,500 people in Florida, the Sunshine State is also a major supplier of equipment to the company. AT&T purchased more than $3 billion of goods and services in Florida in 2014.
Republicans promised to cut taxes and get our economy moving again. Promise made, promise kept.
I wonder how Sen. Bill Nelson, Rep. Charlie Christ, and Rep. Stephanie Murphy are going to explain their votes against the tax cut bill to Floridians…
