RNC Chairwoman: Democrats Should Fairly Evaluate SCOTUS Nominee
NEIL CAVUTO: Already the Democrats have already stated the case that this is sort of a lopsided thing. Why didn't the president, why didn't Republicans wait? I guess thinking that their chances would be better or after the mid-term elections, there's a distinct possibility that Republicans pick up seats in the Senate. But I haven't had the chance to talk to you about that, is there a rush to this?
CHAIRWOMAN MCDANIEL: Absolutely not. I mean, elections have a consequence and President Trump was elected, voters knew he was going to fill the Scalia vacancy. That is the job of the president to nominate people to the Supreme Court. We need nine justices on the Supreme Court. Democrats have changed their tune on this. He brought Democrats to the White House last week to talk to them, Heidi Heitkamp, Joe Manchin; he sought their input. This is good for our country, it is part of our democracy, and I hope the Senate will vote on this quickly and that Democrats will cross the aisle and vote for the president's nominee.
