RNC Chairman Reince Priebus:
“[Colorado] is going to be a major, major battleground state in this country…Obama [is] taking Colorado seriously and that he’s got…his second high dollar fundraiser and…supposedly ‘official event,’ in order to have taxpayers foot the bill for this trip…
“Obama’s so-called ‘jobs bill’ is nothing but a rehash of the same failed policies that he’d crammed down our throats in the first stimulus…and it didn’t work.
“We’ve lost over two million jobs since Barack Obama’s been president and now…he wants to do…it again. Take more taxpayer money…Spend other people’s money in order to try to stimulate the economy again. It didn’t work before, it’s not going to work again.
“Obama is again in Colorado touting his supposed quote unquote ‘we can’t wait tour’…We can’t wait for him to stop worrying about his job and start worrying about getting this economy back on track. We can’t wait for this president to start putting Americans first, instead of his failed liberal policies…
“It’s not just Republicans that have a problem with this [Stimulus 2.0]. He can’t get support from his own party. He can’t get support from Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.
“Next year’s election is going to hinge on the economy and while Obama constantly campaigns to save his own job, I’m confident that voters in Colorado will elect a new Republican leader focused on jobs for Colorado…”
Colorado GOP Chairman Ryan Call:
“As we head into this crucial election year, we are presented…with that clear choice between President Obama, who’s seems so focused on saving his own job, or we’ll have the opportunity to elect new leadership to focus on creating jobs for Coloradans. And that’s really the contrast that this election is going to illustrate.
“Colorado has suffered very deeply under this President’s failed economic leadership. From day one, we’ve been waiting for the results, for President Obama to follow through on those promises, but the reality is that Coloradans just can not wait any longer.
“We can’t wait for the president to get serious about the nearly 70,000 Coloradans who have become unemployed since he took office. We can’t wait for those 60,000 jobs he promised us from the first stimulus package. In fact, we actually lost almost 48,000 jobs. And the owners of the 104,000 properties that have been foreclosed upon or received those foreclosure notices can’t wait for Obama to address finally the housing crisis.
“Time after time it’s been consistently too little, too late and his policies have not only failed to address the problems facing Colorado citizens, but, in most cases, they’ve made things dramatically worse.
“The Colorado Republican Party plans to continue to actively push our message to voters to let them know that, in fact, there’s a real alternative to the rhetoric and failed policies and empty promises that the president has continued to advance that’s been short on those results.
“I’ll tell you, as I’ve been talking to people across Colorado, I continue to hear that message that they want new direction, they want new leadership. And I’m entirely confident that come next November, these concerned Coloradans will help us deliver the state and send new and responsible leadership to the White House.
