ICYMI: Priebus: Colorado Can’t Wait for Obama to Fix the Economy

- October 27, 2011

By: Reince Priebus

Thursday, October 27, 2011

“In 2008,…Barack Obama came to Denver for the Democratic National Convention to deliver his speech accepting the party's nomination for president, with…promises of hope and change. This week, the president was back in the Mile High City. But this time, he came for money.

“Over the last couple months, he's made it clear that his priority is saving his own job. And this week, he unveiled a new slogan -- "We can't wait" -- to drum up support for his Stimulus 2.0. But in Colorado, the 222,000 people who are out of work have been waiting for two and half years for a comprehensive jobs plan…

“With his first stimulus, he promised to save or create 59,000 jobs in Colorado. Since then, the state has lost 47,700…

“Unfortunately for Colorado…the president is in full-time campaign mode…As out-of-work Americans struggle to find a job and make ends meet, the president is raking in millions from Hollywood stars to protect his job…

“Yet, three years into his first term, 14 million people are still out of work…The problem isn't just that his policies have not worked; they've made things worse.

“The reality is that Colorado cannot afford another four years of Barack Obama.

“As President Obama has been…campaigning, congressional Republicans have produced 15 pro-growth bills that the Senate has refused to take up and the president has ignored. He loves to talk about bipartisanship but continuously ignores Republicans' offers to work together…

“The 2012 election will be a referendum on this president and his failed economic policies. Coloradans will go to the polls…knowing they cannot afford another four years of Barack Obama. The hope-filled candidate who rallied voters in Denver in 2008 is being replaced by a divisive, desperate campaigner-in-chief. Colorado deserves better than that, and Republicans are here to provide it.”
