RNC Chairwoman: It’s crazy for Nancy Pelosi to say the tax break is unpatriotic
MARIA BARTIROMO: Pelosi’s newest comments come after Politico reported a major democratic super PAC issued a memo last week. They had concerns over the Democratic Party’s midterm strategy of just resist, resist, resist, opposing the president and Republican tax plan. Your reaction to all of this?
CHAIRWOMAN MCDANIEL: Well it’s just crazy to hear Nancy Pelosi say that giving a tax break to the entire country, it was every tax bracket, is unpatriotic. And then to see 4.2 million people now benefiting from bonuses or wage increases or increased money into their 401(k)s, you know, she has to root against it because no Democrat voted for it, so she’s going to do everything she can to say it’s bad but the numbers speak for themselves. Our economy is doing well, wages are up, people are feeling better and I’ll tell you personally, when I was putting my husband through law school and I was making $30,000 a year, my boss brought me in and gave me a $1,000 dollar bonus. That was our rent. That’s our groceries. It was huge for me at that time in my life and my husbands. So to hear her say that, I think is insulting to middle-class Americans. I know she’s a millionaire from San Francisco, but it is not crumbs to the average working family in this country. A thousand dollars, $2,000, or $3,000 means a lot.
