Mook Dismisses Question About Releasing “Hypothetical” Deleted Emails

- July 31, 2016

Today, Clinton Campaign Manager Robby Mook Dodged On The Status Of Clinton's 33,000 Deleted Emails, Calling Them "Hypothetical." NBC'S CHUCK TODD: "But let me ask you about the 33,000 e-mails are the e-mails that were deleted, that obviously Secretary Clinton says were deleted, they were thought to have not, no relevance at all to the State Department. If there is a way to release them, would you -- would the Clinton campaign encourage the public release of those e-mails." CLINTON CAMPAIGN MANAGER ROBBY MOOK: "Well, look, Chuck, this is, this is -- this is settled over now. Secretary Clinton went in and testified for 11 hours in front of congressional committee. They asked her a lot of questions they came up with nothing. The FBI has concluded their look at this issue and so we're moving on. When Hillary's been out there on her economic tour the last few days talking with voters, they're asking her about how they can afford college and get a better job and that's what we'll stay focused on." TODD: "If you could release them, do you want them released." MOOK: "It's just not a relevant discussion any more. This matter has been concluded. Many officials have taken a long look at this and we're just moving forward." TODD: "All right. So you're not taking a position on whether you want to see these e-mails, really." MOOK: "It's just not a relevant question anymore because this matter has been concluded and you're asking about hypothetical e-mails that may or may not be there and so we're just going to stay focused on that the voters were asking about." (NBC's "Meet The Press," 7/31/16)
