Sherrod Brown is making empty promises, once again.
It's an election year, so Sherrod Brown is trying to win votes by touting a new proposal - one with no legislative text or cost estimate - to levy a potentially massive tax on American companies under the guise of helping American auto workers and car manufacturers.
But the truth is that Brown has an abysmal voting record when it comes to supporting Ohio manufacturers and small businesses, including auto workers and car dealerships.
- Sherrod Brown has voted to help small businesses ZERO times so far this Congress, according to the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).
- Sherrod Brown has voted to help Ohio manufacturers a dismal 10% of the time so far this Congress, according to the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM).
This new proposal is only another desperate attempt by Sherrod Brown to try and distract Ohioans from his ineffective legislative career. Despite being in Congress for 25 years, Brown has only sponsored six pieces of legislation that became law. But it's an election year, so he's gotta look busy...
"Leave it to career-politician Sherrod Brown to try and win votes with empty proposals three months before November to try and distract Ohioans from his ineffective legislative career. Election year stunts won't make up for the more than two decades that Sherrod Brown has been in Washington voting against Ohio manufacturers and small businesses." - RNC Spokesperson Mandi Merritt
