Obama’s Latest Woes

RNC Communications - October 28, 2011

This Week’s Polls Revealed More Bad News For POTUS

Americans Aren’t Feeling Positive About The Economy

“A Resounding 69 Percent Of Respondents Said The Country Is ‘In Decline,’ The Survey Found, While 57 Percent Predict Today’s Kids Won’t Live Better Lives Than Their Parents.” (Mike Lillis, “The Hill Poll: Most Voters Say The United States Is In Decline,” The Hill, 10/24/11)

“Additionally, 83 Percent Of Voters Indicated They’re Either Very Or Somewhat Worried About The Future Of The Nation, With 49 Percent Saying They’re ‘Very Worried.’” (Mike Lillis, “The Hill Poll: Most Voters Say The United States Is In Decline,” The Hill, 10/24/11)

And All Across The Nation, Americans Are Holding Obama Accountable

MAINE

At 43 Percent, Obama’s Favorability Ratings Among Maine Voters Is At The Lowest Of His Presidency. (Critical Insights Research, 600 LV, MoE 4%, 10/18 – 23/11)

  • 54 Percent Of Maine Voters Disapprove Of How Obama Has Handled The Economy, Only 36 Percent Have A Positive View. (Critical Insights Research, 600 LV, MoE 4%, 10/18 – 23/11)

  • 39 Percent Of Maine Voters Approve Of Obama’s Handing Of Taxes. (Critical Insights Research, 600 LV, MoE 4%, 10/18 – 23/11)

NEVADA

Only 44 Percent Of Nevada Voters Approve Of Obama’s Job Performance. “Barack Obama continues to suffer from the Nevada blues. Only 44% of voters there approve of him to 53% disapproving and he ties Mitt Romney in a state that he won by 12 points in 2008. Along with New Hampshire, Nevada is probably the swing state where Obama has fallen the furthest.”(Public Policy Polling, 500 RV, MoE 4.4%, 10/20 – 23/11)

  • Among Independents Only 42 Percent Approve Of The Way Obama Has Handled His Job As President. “There are two main things causing Obama problems in the Silver State. He's under water with independents, at 42/53.” (Public Policy Polling, 500 RV, MoE 4.4%, 10/20 – 23/11)
  • “And He's Lost A Lot Of Support With Democrats, Only 78% Of Whom Approve Of Him With 17% Disapproving.” (Public Policy Polling, 500 RV, MoE 4.4%, 10/20 – 23/11)

OHIO

51 Percent Of Ohio Voters Disapprove Of Obama’s Handling Of The Presidency. (Quinnipiac University Poll, 1,668 RV, MoE 2.4%, 10/17-23/11)

49 Percent Of Ohio Voters Think Obama Does Not Deserve A Second Term, Only 44 Percent This He Does. (Quinnipiac University Poll, 1,668 RV, MoE 2.4%, 10/17-23/11)

GEORGIA

Obama’s Job Approval Rating Is Down To 38 Percent Among Georgia Voters, Where He Won 47 Percent Of The Vote In 2008. “But according to a poll released Thursday by InsiderAdvantage and Channel 2 Action News, to declare Georgia in competition would be something of a stretch – at least for now. While he won 47 percent of the vote in Georgia in 2008, President Barack Obama’s current fan base is 38 percent, according to the survey.” (Jim Galloway, “Your Morning Jolt: Barack Obam Down To 38 Percent In Georgia,” Atlanta Journal Constitution, 10/28/11)  |
