Remember how Democrats told Americans that the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act was actually a tax hike? How it would be “armageddon”? That all they’d see were “crumbs”?
It would seem that reality is quickly outstripping the Democrat talking points. Polling done by the American Action Network found a massive swing in opinion on tax reform. Specifically, they found in the one month between passage and implementation, attitudes changed markedly.
In the 2nd Congressional District, the overall perception of tax cuts went from Virginians thinking the law would raise their taxes by a 4 point margin to anticipating a tax CUT by a 15 point margin — all in just one month.
It’s no coincidence that consumer confidence has hit a 17-year high following tax cuts kicking in. More than 400 companies have announced pay raises and bonuses for their employees, including major employers in Virginia like Capital One.
