Florida Reps. Stephanie Murphy and Charlie Crist voted against middle-class tax relief today, choosing loyalty to Nancy Pelosi and petty politics over their responsibilities to hard-working Floridians.
Both Murphy and Crist voted against the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, a historic bill that simplifies the tax code and delivers long-awaited relief to Florida families. The bill is estimated to add 51,601 jobs in Florida and increase median incomes by nearly $2,000.
“Rather than standing up for the people of Florida and working to make their lives easier, Stephanie Murphy and Charlie Crist chose to stand with Nancy Pelosi. By casting a no vote, they voted against a simplified tax code and new jobs for their state. Voters will remember their decision to toe the party line and oppose much-needed tax relief come Election Day 2018.” - RNC Spokesperson Ellie Hockenbury
