Republican-Led States Continue To Spearhead America’s Economic Recovery While Biden And Democrats Try To Squander It

REPUBLICAN-LED STATES ARE BRINGING BACK JOBS FASTER

  • Newly released data for October from the Labor Department confirms that Republican governors and legislatures are leading the way in getting Americans back to work.
    • More jobs are being recovered and unemployment is lower in red states.
    • 17 of the top 20 states for jobs recovered since the coronavirus pandemic began are led by Republican governors, and 18 of the top 20 states have Republican-controlled legislatures.
    • The top 11 states for jobs recovered are all led by Republicans.
    • Two Republican-led states – Idaho and Utah – have more jobs than when the pandemic hit, and two more – Texas and Arizona – have nearly recovered 100 percent of their lost jobs.
  • 24 Republican-led states have recovered at least two-thirds of their lost jobs.
    • Republican-led states on average have recovered 83 percent of their lost jobs compared to just 70 percent for Democrat-run states.

RED STATES HAVE LOWER UNEMPLOYMENT RATES

  • Out of the top 20 states with the lowest unemployment rates, 16 are led by Republican governors and 17 have Republican-controlled legislatures.
    • The 10 states with the lowest unemployment rates are all led by Republicans.
    • The eight states with the highest unemployment rates are all led by Democrat governors: California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, and New York.
  • The average unemployment rate for the nation’s 27 states with Republican governors is just 3.9 percent.
    • Democrat-led states have an average unemployment rate 1.5 percentage points higher – 5.4 percent.
  • 91 percent of the states with unemployment rates lower than when the pandemic began are led by Republican governors, and 100 percent have Republican-controlled legislatures.

BIDEN’S FAILED ECONOMIC POLICIES ARE HURTING AMERICAN WORKERS, FAMILIES, AND BUSINESSES

  • Inflation is at a 30-year-high, stripping Americans of wage gains and slamming lower-income families who spend about a third of their income on essentials like food and energy.
    • Bidenflation is hitting middle America the hardest, with “19 states in the middle of the country … experiencing price increases above seven percent.”

  • This Thanksgiving is shaping up to possibly be the “most expensive meal in the history of the holiday,” with families paying more for nearly every ingredient – that is, if these items are even on shelves.
    • In Florida, a 70-year ‘Turkey Shoot” tradition which raises money for the community was cancelled because of exorbitant turkey prices.
    • In New Hampshire, local food pantries are scrambling to get enough food, with this year “proving to be more troublesome than 2020 was, food-wise.”
    • In Wisconsin, the cost of a Thanksgiving dinner is up more than 17 percent from last year.
  • Along with historically high prices for Thanksgiving, Americans across the country are facing higher energy costs for everything from gasoline to natural gas to heat their homes.
    • In California, gas prices reached a new record-high.
    • In Michigan, three out of every four Michigan families rely on natural gas to heat their homes, and those families are expecting to see the cost of natural gas rise by up to 30 percent this winter.
    • In Missouri, drivers are paying 76 percent more than last year to fill up their gas tanks.
