RNC Chairman Priebus Statement On The House Vote To Reduce Spending To 2008 Levels

- January 25, 2011

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus issued the following statement regarding today’s vote in the House of Representatives to reduce non-defense spending to 2008 levels:

“I applaud today’s vote to keep our promise to the American people and cut the bloated budgets and reckless spending that were commonplace under Nancy Pelosi.  Not only did the record budget deficits of the past two years inhibit job creation in the private sector, but they also mortgaged our children and grandchildren’s future in order to fund Barack Obama’s liberal agenda. While this is only a first step to getting our country’s fiscal house in order, Republicans are laying the foundation for a government that lives within its means and puts our nation back on a path to economic prosperity.”
