WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement on the CNN Democrat town hall in South Carolina:
“It's a sad state of affairs in the Democrat Party when the last two candidates standing are someone under FBI investigation and a socialist who honeymooned in the Soviet Union. Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders represent a political party racing to the extreme left, determined to put the failed policies of the last eight years on steroids. Instead of offering the course correction Americans want, both candidates are running on President Obama’s plan to bring terrorists from Guantanamo Bay onto U.S. soil, job killing tax increases, and out of control spending.
“Between her refusal to commit to releasing transcripts of her Wall Street speeches to the fact she needed a mulligan to finally state that she isn’t a liar, Hillary Clinton reminded the American people why they overwhelmingly distrust her. With fewer voters coming out to support the Democrat field while Republicans enjoy historic turnout, it’s clear which party is winning the battle of ideas and inspiring the country.”
