WASHINGTON – Tonight, The Washington Post reported that the former IT staffer who ran Hillary Clinton’s secret email server was granted immunity by the Department of Justice, while a separate report from The New York Times revealed investigators are taking new steps to determine whether Clinton’s aides copied classified information onto unclassified systems. In response to these developments, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement:
“Hillary Clinton’s flimsy excuses for her unsecure email server are crumbling. For months, Clinton has tried to deceive the American people about the nature of the FBI investigation into her unprecedented email setup. But new reports about her IT staffer being granted immunity, officials confirming ‘wrongdoing,’ and plans for her to be interviewed soon cast an ominous sign for Clinton and prove there’s more to this story.
"The fact is that in more than 2,000 messages, Hillary Clinton’s server jeopardized our national security and sensitive diplomatic efforts. This terrible error in judgment coupled with Clinton’s arrogant and dishonest claims shows she can’t be trusted with the presidency.”
