WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement on the March jobs report:
“We all want to see unemployed Americans going back to work, but only Republicans have spent the last years focused on policies that would actually speed up job creation,” said Chairman Priebus. “Democrats, on the other hand, have slowed down job creation—with ObamaCare, with wasteful spending, and with intrusive regulations. Today’s jobs report could be so much better, but Democrats in the Senate won’t pass Republican jobs bills.
“It’s bad enough that ObamaCare slows job creation and economic growth, but it’s also shrinking paychecks and destroying the 40-hour work week. Because of the Democrats’ misguided law, many people who are lucky enough to have jobs have seen their hours slashed. That’s not fair, and that’s why Republicans in the House passed the Save American Workers Act yesterday. Sadly, we can expect Democrats in the Senate to stand in the way of legislation that would help working Americans.”
