WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement on the March jobs report:
“This jobs report can’t hide the fact Americans are participating in the labor force at the lowest rate since the Carter administration,” said Chairman Priebus. “President Obama’s policies have forced millions to give up looking for work entirely and made it more difficult for Americans to stay in the middle class.
“Today we learned that our country had the worst month for manufacturing jobs since 2009. Losing 29,000 manufacturing jobs last month on top of the 240,000 we’ve already lost under President Obama shows Democrats don’t have what it takes to grow this vital sector of our economy. Hillary Clinton’s manufacturing plan only promises to hemorrhage more jobs and make it harder for the economy to get back on track. Only a Republican in the White House can be trusted to put the middle class first, grow the economy, and restore prosperity to American families.”
